Parts 1-10

Special edition video! Before I release Part 20, I wanted to take a look what happened in the first 10 videos. I condensed the first 10 hours of drawing into about 2.5 minutes. There are lots more videos to come. When I finish this picture, I will upload a compilation of the entire drawing process from the blank sheet of 3x4 foot paper to the final work of art. Part 19

Detailing town and adding preparing a tree for detailing. 45 minutes condensed into 2.

Part 18

Putting leaves on a scrub oak, which is a kind type of oak tree that's more like shrubbery. We have lots of them in Colorado.

Part 17

Adding some detail to a small part of town. Buildings and roads. 1 hour of work condensed into 2 minutes.

Part 16

Adding some town to the left side of the picture. This is about 50 minutes condensed into 2 minutes.

Part 15

More detail on the left side. Unfortunately, some of what I worked on isn't in the video because of where my camera was positioned. Oops! This is 45 minutes of drawing condensed into about 2 minutes.

Part 12

Detailing the lefthand foothills. Nearly 90 minutes of work condensed into less than 4 minutes. Filmed 4/9/2024, uploaded 6/15/2024.

Part 11

Adding trees and buildings in the middle of the picture using pencil and fine ink.

Part 10

Detailing some of the foothills on the right side. Filmed 4/3/2024, uploaded 6/1/2024.

More big progress on the peak and the foothills on the lefthand side. Filmed on 4/2/2024. Uploaded 5/25/2024.

Part 8

Lots of progress on the peak! I used 5h, 9h, 5B, and 7B pencils, and 0.005 and 0.8 Micron ink pens. This is nearly 2 hours of work condensed into about 2 minutes 35 seconds.

Part 7

In these 50 minutes of work condensed into less than 2 minutes, I started inking buildings and roads. Most of the changes are near the center of the 3x4 foot drawing. Filmed 11/6/2023. Uploaded 5/11/2024.

Part 6

More ink. The trees on the right get a touch of attention. The peak gets some new curves.

Part 5

First ink! Micron pens. 50 minutes condensed to about 2 minutes. Filmed 11/5/2023. Uploaded 4/28/2024.

Part 4

This was my fourth session working on this drawing. I added a little bit of shape to Pulpit Rock in the later half of the video. There's obviously a long way to go! I filmed this on October 26, 2023. Uploaded 4/19/2024.

45 minutes condensed into 2. Very little progress. Drawn on 10/17/2023. Uploaded 4/13/2024.

57 minutes condensed into 2. Not a lot of progress in this one. Filmed 10/16/2023. Uploaded 4/6/2024.

Initial Sketch

This is the initial sketch on a journey taking a blank piece of 3 by 4 foot paper and turning it into an epic pencil and ink drawing. The video takes 52 minutes of sketching and condenses it down to around 3 minutes. Filmed 10/13/2023. Uploaded 4/6/2024.
